Achsah Messenger was born in Canaan around 1785 and Bethiah Messenger was born in 1773. We haven't been able to find any birth, death, marriage records for them in Canaan. We are trying to link them as sisters. I'd appreciate any advice on where to look. Thanks! |

He was my greatgrandfather through the 2nd wife. Family tradition said he w s a herb doctor but Ihaven't a clue. |

Major Asa is buried in the Old Canaaan Cemetery, with the inscription on his tombstone reading, "One of the first settlers of the town Canaan, belo ed by all who knew him, kind partner, a faithfull friend". Ebenezer Belding lived there around 1809. If you find anything about any Beldings I would love to have that information. It seems they lived all around Columbia Co and I assume Albany co. before that. I also found some of them in Berkshire MA. |
