***It's been a while - but shows and work keep us too busy around here! We started the year with disappointing news regarding our planned litter of chocolates, Skye is not pregnant. So we will be waiting! Our first show of the year saw me take Mica and one of his black son's (mom is Ch. Snowyriver's Rosemary Hume) to the Ladies Kennel Club in Vancouver, B.C. where our first outing brought us Group 1st for Mica on Friday and RWD for Justice on Sunday (10 dogs, about half from the U.S.) and Best Puppy in Breed on Saturday and Sunday. Then another of those horrible winter drives to get back home. The next weekend saw us go BOB in Calgary with Mica, 2 of the 3 days, and make the cut both days in group - with a definite Group 5th on the Sunday (hate those - they ought to give out green ribbons for that - could paper a room or two! Chance was supposed to make that trip - however, a sprained hock is keeping him home indefinitely - if indeed it ever heals properly. Only time will tell. Our next outing is the beginning of March when we trekk to Prince Albert, Saskatchewan - hopefully finding power for the trailer or it could be a cool weekend! Shows after that include the Camrose Kennel Club, Red Deer Kennel Club, Chautauque Kennel Club, Edmonton Kennel Club and Burns Lake. An extra travellor will be going with us - a Belgian Sheepdog puppy named Kaz! And to two of the shows so far, we are joined by a young Boxer bitch, name of Julie! Should be fun!
