Here are the various "browser safe" Web colors. Of course, there are many more colors possible than those shown here, but these are the 216 colors that match the popular browsers' palettes. So if you use these colors, you can be reasonably sure they will appear as you intended on a random surfer's color display.

All 216 colors are shown on 2 separate colored backgrounds, so you can see what they look like in typical situations. The colors are represented with their 6 hex-digits codes, as you would enter them in HTML. The first 2 hex-digits represent red, the middle 2 green, the last 2 blue. Text and background colors use the same RGB codes, but some browsers may not be able to render all of the text colors distinctly.

And here is a list of HTML color names. You can use the names instead of the RGB hex codes if you want. Please note that many of the RGB values represented by the color names are not from the "browser safe" palette! Names may be handy, but they are not as safe. Text and background colors use the same names, but some browsers may not be able to render all of the text colors distinctly.
