JOSEPH WILLIAM SCHOFIELD

Joey aaka (also affectionately known as) JOE-MONSTER is our second living miracle; arriving true to form on his own schedule at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 1994. He was scheduled to be born by c-section on Tuesday December 20.

He is without a doubt my *sonshine*!!! The apple of my eye and any other cutsey phrase you can think of. My pregnancy with Joey was a difficult one. Afterall he was my 14th pregnacy. He was my last hope. I knew all too well that a pregnancy did not necessarily end in a living child. He came after Susie, Melissa, and one other m/c and boy was it stressful. The complications I had did not make it any easier. I found out I was pregnant on April 13, and was on modified bedrest by May 1, for bleeding. We endured the bleeding, polyps, a cyst growing faster than he was; placenta previa, and pre-eclampsia. Thankfully, he arrived safe and sound.

Yet our struggles did not instantly disappear. He suffered with colic from the age of 3 weeks until well past 14 months of age. He screamed constantly from the time he awoke at 5 a.m. until he fell asleep from exhaustion at 7 p.m. Luckily he did sleep throught the night to give the rest of the family time and peace to regroup.

Since he outgrew colic he has been such a loving sweet, caring little kid. He is my Sunshine and the light of my life. Yet at the same time he as been a little daredevil!! He climbed mini-blinds by the age of 9 months, roller skated down the basement stairs and started shaving before the age of 3. He received his first set of stiches before he was 15 months old and needed his third (and LAST so far!!) before he was 17 months old.

I beleive that God gave me Susie because she was the baby I had always dreamed of, and he gave me Joey so I could become the person I am. I have gained such strength, stamina, patience and compassion from this wee little boy.

I admire his perserverence, his ability to take the world by storm, and his "NO FEAR" attitude. He is such a character and he is "the baby; gotta love him"

Presently, he is not as accident prone as he once was (THANKGOODNESS!) yet has kept his charm. We are anxiously awaiting him to start playing soccer as he has been practicing for 2 seasons with his sister's team:) so he should be pretty good.

He is now 4!.
Stayed tune to this website for the future adventures of JOE-MONSTER
