Meet LeRoy:

It was in November 1996 when I went to the pet store with the intensions of getting a larger fish tank and expanding my aquarium. Out of curiosity, I went by the reptile section, as I have a lust for snakes...

Much to my surprise, there was a couple of iguanas there. In years past the igs were in the $50 - 80 price range, and now they were competitively reduced to $10 - 20. How could I resist? He was about 4 inches from snout to vent. His tail was intact. He appeared to be healthy.

The lady at the pet store was pleasant and showed me the different things that I would need. She sold me a 20 gallon long tank, with a piece of a log that was about a foot long. I was informed that he would be "okay" in the set up for at least a year or two.

About a week after I got him, I started digging on the web and found the most informative site imaginable. It has given me more insight to the ig world than any book I had read. From this web page I found out the not so nice stuff, like ig breeding aggression, calcium deficiencies and kidney failure. I learned that some colors that you are wearing can affect your ig's mood, that feeding a balanced diet is not the commercial gunk they sell in a can, nor is it lettuce. I learned that igs are social animals and would rather be around people than living in a waterless fish tank watching the world through the glass.

For the love of LeRoy, I introduce my ig web page.
