ANDREAS, 1st Generation

There was political unrest in Southern Russia during the late 1800's. Andreas Ulmer realized this situation was not going to get better, decided to move his family to Saskatchewan, Canada. I don't know who his contacts were in North America, but he obviously had some.

Other family members weren't so anxious to move, and so Andreas, wife, Katharina, one of his sons, (he had eight children) and granddaughter, Kate, left first. It was about 1905.
