KARL, 3rd Generation
Karl Ulmer was the oldest of Wilhelm's children. He arrived in Saskatchewan in 1907 with his father, uncle Heinrich, and their familes. his sister Katie had come earlier with grandparents, Andreas and Katharina.
Times were hard for everyone in the early years. Karl was a carpenter by trade and married Lena Rowskowski when he was twenty-four and she was nineteen. Lena came from Poland and there isn't any information about her family at this time. Maybe someone seeing the "Wedding Photo", (20 Aug 1914, above), will have some leads.
