Welcome, friends and guests, to this celestial niche Sir Genesis and I have
hidden away deeply within the bosom of our beloved Seaside Manor. Master
and I share a deep and abiding love of and passion for all things spiritual ~
numbering prevalently among them the sea and the mighty forces with
which God harnesses it. For the sea is the cradle of all earthly life ~ and
the hand which rocks that cradle ~ the very genesis of the ebb and flow
of its restless tides ~ is that which also sets and resets the pendulum of
eternity's continuum. That hand ~ that mystical, boundless, and singular
force with which God set all time in motion and still regulates the very
heartbeat of the earth ~ is the solar system we behold with awe in the
firmaments above. The sun gives birth to every new and wondrous day,
filling each with warmth and sustaining light , and fundamentally
influencing every aspect of our existence. It is the source of the physical,
emotional, and spiritual sustenance upon which all life is wholly
dependent ~ and without which every living thing would exsanguinate
and perish. Conversely, however ~ that very force, upon which all life
so summarily depends for its nourishment and perpetuation, would just
as swiftly, brutally, and devastatingly eviscerate the earth and all upon it
~ were its power not challenged and held in abeyance by the offsetting,
marshalled forces of the moon. Though the sun adorns the beginning
and end of each day with untold might and spectacular hues ~ it is the
moon which is the celestial Lord of Evening, bathing in its ethereal glow
the sanctified hours during which souls rest and are replenished. It is this
heavenly orb ~ this muted and humble companion of the sun ~ that rules
with a gentle hand the ebb and flow of the tides ~ and of life itself. Lunar
influences govern each of the cycles and rhythms so intricately woven
throughout the living world ~ even that of human fertility ~ hence playing
an instrumental role in the very survival of all living things. It is upon the
moon that lovers gaze ~ and with the moon's twinkling, celestial offspring
that the most intimate secrets, longings, and desires of the human heart are
shared. Though the sun may be more resplendent with color, warmth, and
power ~ so, too, is it cruelly unforgiving of man's infringement upon it.
Only the benevolent moon has granted an audience with mankind ~ permitting
us, unassailed, to touch its heavenly countenance and leave the vestiges of
our visit's history in our footprints upon its surface. It is by the heavenly light
of this celestial guardian that we kneel to pray to our Maker ~ by its soft
illumination that we tuck our precious children into bed ~ and by the fruition
of its rich, eternal cycles that we ourselves evolve into fertility and bring forth
those very children we so dearly love. It was in the luminescence of the moon
that God breathed life into His own dear Son and set His feet upon this earth ~
and by its heavenly light that man first gazed upon the Holy Child's radiant face.
The sun may reign more magnificently in its command of the day ~ but it is the
humble, reticent, and abiding moon that tenderly kisses the earth and all life
upon it good night ~ to then, in hushed splendor, keep constant vigil over all in
the peaceful and sacred hours of solace, respite, and renewal of every living thing
until the new day's dawn. It is in remembrance of these, the moon's lesser touted
miracles ~ and of the volumes they speak to the vast importance of humility in
all of our lives ~ that the next few rooms are offered ~ and Sir Genesis and I
