This compilation is an attempt to gather into one place all of the information gathered by various Queen researchers and shared on the Rootsweb QUEEN Mail List, as well as other documentation about the Queens of NC and GA for the period 1750 - 1850. The data have been arranged by individual name, and then chronologically for each person. Since many of these names are common (e.g., William, John, etc.), the data entries for any listed name may belong to different, separate individuals. Where possible (and where I could see the justification for doing so), I have segregated specific data within a common name (see "George, son of Laban" for an example).
Where known, the source of each statement is documented with footnotes, so that others can substantiate each statement for themselves. EVERY data element here has one or more reference sources cited. Unfortunately, the footnotes in the database will not "copy" into HTML and this web page. And since the database is being updated weekly, copying the footnotes (or worse, retyping them into the document) with each update is not feasible. If you want a list of the source references for one or more individuals (or a file copy of the whole 71-page document), just send me your request by e-mail, and I'll respond within a week.
Similarly, any and all new information is welcome, and will be incorporated into updates, if users of this document will send it to me, along with the reference sources. I also welcome corrections and revisions.
The task of recognizing relationships between the people in this database is just beginning; I ask that readers inform me of other relationships they know of, or identify from the data here, that I have overlooked.
