Our current programs that are open to new applicants are as follows:

1) Private African American Newborn Adoptions - CSCY works with birthmothers in a semi-open adoption arrangement. Prospective families are picked and sometimes interviewed by the birthmothers. You need: a completed homestudy, transracial assessment (if you are of another race), dear birthmother letter, fingerprints, family pictures and a non-identifying summary. Explanations of requirements and assistance is gladly provided. We ask that all applicants be of the Christian faith. You need not be Catholic to apply.

Our fees are 5% of your adjusted gross income with a $1,500 minimum and a $4,500 maximum fee. If you live in the St. Louis Archdiocese, this fee includes your homestudy by our staff. If you live outside the Archdiocese, you must supply your own homestudy in addition to these fees.

2) Special Needs Adoptions - The Division of Family Services in Missouri has approximately 500 children available for adoption at any given time. The age ranges of the children vary. African American children are available from birth until the teen years. Caucasian children are available over the age of ten. All children have been victims of abuse and/or neglect. Special training entitled STARS is given by CSCY staff.

Subsidies are usually available to pay for adoption expenses. Further subsidy after the adoption is possible for daycare, medical and a small monthly stipend.

3) Foster Care - The Division of Family Services in Missouri has thousands of children in the temporary care of the state. Special families are needed to provide care for these children during this difficult time of their young lives. Special training entitled STARS is given by CSCY staff to help you prepare.

Foster families are given a stipend each month to help in the care of the child. The state pays for daycare, medical, psychological and the dental expenses of the child through approved providers.

4) Private Caucasian Infant Adoption - This program is closed.
