The following entry may relate to possible relatives of Robert Baxter and Mary Donaldson who were the Grandparents of Robert Wright Baxter IRISH LAND DEEDS HENDERSON TO BAXTER VOL 502 PAGE 479 FILM# 535794 1794 Robert Henderson demesne of Bangor Laborer and John Baxter of Quarterland parish aforesaid. That for the regard he bore to his beloved wife ????? Henderson otherwise {blank} He did buy? the one half of the holding he then possessed under the honorable Robert Ward adjoining the poor houses unto her brother the said John Baxter for the use of his said wife Jane during the remainder .... Wit: James Hamilton Clewlow and William Baxter of Quarterland and Patrick Kearney of Belfast See Janet Agnew Lease in which one half of tenement is sold back to Robert Ward in 1796. The portion about "beloved wife ???? Henderson otherwise" is difficult to read. Speculation: We know from the gravestone that John Baxter the father of Robert Wright Baxter was born about 1796. Robert Baxter and Mary Donaldson may have been born about 25 years earlier or about 1770. Could this John Baxter and William Baxter and apparently a sister Jane Henderson formerly Baxter be brothers or a parent of Robert Baxter who married Mary Donaldson?
