My ggGrandparents, Margaret Wright and John Baxter are buried near Stoddard, Wisconsin. In the Riverside Cemetery. Along with their Daughter, Sarrah and her husband, William Spears, parents of Matthew, James, William, David, Maggie, and John Spears who is My grandfather. There is more relatives of John Spears and James Spears living in the LaCrosse area. My grandfather John, married the 2nd time to Dora Hanson Moe. John's 1st wife (Suiter) died of complications of Childbirth and Dora's husband, Robert Moe,was killed in the woods while cutting down tre s. Just surfed on site accidently, Very surprised to find article. Still haven't sat down to figure out the connection. Moe Spears is having a Family Reunion at La Crosse County Goose Island Park Off State Highway 35-53 On Saturday- August 5, 2000. Just thought i'd leave a note. I have relitives in London Ont. Canada who attend The Mormon Church. My grandparents were Thomas and Mary Baxter from Mt. Brydges, Caradoc Township, Middlesex County, Ontario, Canada. They had nine children,Gus, Jack, Carl, Herb, Milt, Maude, Myrtle and twin girls that died very young. Herb was my dad. My father was John Love Bell, son to Annie Love. Her father was John Love and grandfather Donald Love married to Janet McFarlane. Donald's sister was the Jane Love mentioned in your book of Baxter genealogy. I found that very interesting. I am also from G eenock but have been in the States for the last 30 years. Well done for making the effort! I am researching my own branch of the Baxter family tree and wonder if we are somehow linked? My great grandfather, Edward Alexander Baxter (1847 - 1907) emigrated from England to South Africa in 1872. His father was The R verend John Alexander Baxter (1805 - 1849) from the English West Midlands. John's father was William Baxter, born 1756 in Norfolk (England), died 1827 in Bristol. William's father was David, who lived in Kirkaldy, Scotland. I have a lot of information on Baxters in South Africa and Australia, and wonder if we can link the branches together?

You indicate that Sarah Robert is the "first family" -- this is not correct. Grandfather married Isabel Child and had 3 children with her: William Reid Maughan (deceased) Helen Maughan and Wallace Don Maughan (deceased). Grandfather married Sarah Roberts when he was in his 80's (I think when he was about 85 years old).
