Norma Cherrie Latta

The Artist

She always signed her paintings simply, elegantly:

"Cherrie"

Her paintings were sold all over the United States having followers who collected only her art. She painted every style from landscapes to portraits to whimsical. Most of her landscapes of mountains, rivers and blooming fields were places in her mind that she wanted to be. They were of no place in particular and of all places.

The 1960’s and 70’s had her busy with her own art supply store, an art gallery, a picture frame shop and teaching 100 art students a week while also painting pictures for her agent to take across the United States. "Cherrie’s Studio" was located in West University (Houston), Texas and her other locations were around the Houston area.

She was the first artist ever to do a complete painting on a canvas that was the exact size of a postage stamp! This was so uniqe that on August 8, 1965 the Houston Chronicle did a wonderful article on her and her postage stamp paintings.

If anyone has any of her artwork that she has done I would love to hear from you!
