I can almost feel the tension and excitement as everyone is gathering for the second meeting here in Seneca Falls, New York.  It is probably about 11 o'clock in the morning as that was the time the meeting began yesterday July 19th, 1848.  James Mott is prosiding and with the crack of the gavel the room gets quiet and the meeting comes to order.

Elizabeth Stanton reads the minutes of the previous day and discussions begin regarding the Declaration of Sentiments.  Among those involved in the deliberations are Thomas McClintock, Jr. and his wife Mary Ann Wilson.

After some considerations the Declaration of Sentiments was unanimously adopted and signed. Thomas and Mary Ann and their daughers are among the signers.  There is much jubilation but also thoughts on the future of work that has to be done.

That is what I envison of the second day meeting of the Woman's Rights Convention held in Senaca Falls, New York in the Wesleyan Chapel on July 20, 1848.  Their Declaration of Sentiments was drafted in the home of Thomas McClintock, Jr. and Mary Ann which is pictured below.  Their home is now owned by the National Park Service Women's Rights National Historical Park as a historical building.  They hold tours of the house and I would love one day to be able to go into the house of my Foreuncle.  I am proud Thomas (my gr gr gr Grandfather's brother) was a respecter of womens rights and understood the importance of his efforts. In Declaration Park there is a Waterwall with every name of the signer of the Declaration of Sentiments where Thomas McClintock, Jr. and Mary Ann's names will forever be proudly engraved!

On behalf of all women we thank you Thomas and Mary Ann for the courage and tenacity it took
to undertake such an endeavor!  We have benefited from your strengths and moved forward!
