I am experiencing similar things with my lynx pointe oriental shorthair as I type this. Two years ago she had a radical mastectomy to remove malignant tumors. She has stopped eating and I am near the sad point of having to decide that it is time to put h r down.

Last night I had the awful task of taking my cat "Bob" to the vet to end the misery of the disease that left him unable to stand, or go the bathroom. He had IBD and liver cancer. I miss him so much it hurts! It was very comforting to read your pages about what others had gone through. It helped to feel that I wasn't alone, Thank You

LIKE YOU, WE HAVE HAD MORE THAN OUR SHARE OF SADNESS. WE JUST HAD OUR 12 YEAR OLD CAT DIE FROM A RAPIDLY GROWING INTESTINAL CANCER. ONE DAY FINE, THEN A RAPID DOWNHILL. SHE DIED FOUR DAYS AFTER SHE EXHIBITED SYMPTOMS OF BEING ILL. WE HAD BONE CANCER, ANCER OF THE LAYRNX, AND ONE DIED FROM FELINE LEUKEMIA. THANKS FOR THIS WEBSITE. I have just gotten a telephone call not an hour ago that my 8 1/2 yr old, Tigger, has lymphoma cancer throughout his liver and spleen. I think I'm still sort of in shock because of his age and the fact that he's been vaccinated his whole life against thi , etc. Even my vet has no real reason why he would get this. I got a cat for my 10th Birthday on 11/3/1981 named Mischief. I had to put him to sleep on 1/19/1998 due to kidney failure. I still miss him terrible and now I am losing Tigger as well. Our 6 year old siamese "Shibbers" is currently recovering from surgery to remove a tumor on his stomach. Day before yesterday the vet told us that the tumor was cancer (lymphosarcoma) and so we're trying to research this to find out where to go from here I liked your webpage although it was hard to read, I can understand why it took you so long to write it. Thanks very much.

Hi. I enjoyed reading with great interest the entire events that you recreated of Woodrow's ordeal with Lymphoma. I just lost my little cat last night (10/12/2000). I am consumed with guilt and depression and I miss her terribly. My little girl's was Peanut. She was diagnosed with lymphoma in June of 1999. She went through chemo treatments for one whole year. In the beginning her doctor's only gave her a 2% chance of getting this far. I was so excited. Just when she could sta t to fade off the chemo she began to have problems with her mouth. She was soon diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC). My poor kitty now had a second more deadly cancer. I drove her from Pittsburgh to Cleveland everyday for three weeks for radiation treatments. Nothing seemed to work. I spoke with oncologists and surgeons accross the country. I am frustrated to know the limits of veterinary medicine compared to human advancements. I own a specialized pharmaceutical group and have many connections in the medical and pharmaceutical worlds. I have start a nonprofit organization called the Peanu Foundation. I have many objectives to change the course of veterinary medicince as it pertains to cancer treatments. I would appreaciate any assistance or involvement you could offer. I read your experience with such empathy. You cared for Woodrow like a child regardless of what was needed for his care. I did the same. Unfortunately I do not have many supportors. M ny of my peers and family think that I am being silly for caring so much for Peanut. Peanut was 13 1/2, close to the same age as Woodrow. I had her since she was a kitten. I had been so attached to her for so long it hurts to not have her with me. Tha k you for listening.

I too lost a kitty to the same disease. He was a black Persian nicknamed Boo! I had him for 11 years and although he passed away 5 years ago I still miss him. His ashes are on my mantel. I can truly sympathize with your loss and I believe that someday we will be reunited with our "fur children" once again. One thing I have noticed over the years with all my cats is that they know what the words "I love you" mean. Go

Nancy, thank you so much for your Woodrow web page. My 14 year-old cat, Crozier, developed a mass under her neck which I found Saturday; seeing the vet yesterday, it appears that lymphoma is the problem, which should be confirmed today when the lab result are in. Your page has already helped me prepare for discussing the disease and treatment with my vet, and the links to the support sites are tremendously helpful. Thank you so much for your kindness to strangers, and for your eloquent tribute to your f iend Woodrow. Although you feel you may have made some mistakes in his care, he was lucky to have you as a mom!
