Tony and Hunt Sales

Sons of Soupy Sales and Barbara Fox
First Band: Tony Sales and the Tigers (Tony on guitar, Hunt on drums)
- Tony and the Tigers appeared on "Hullaballoo" in 1966, when Soupy Sales was the host. They performed "Day Tripper", and later in the show, the Sales Brothers did a song-and-dance routine with their father.
Hunt and Tony grew up in Detroit, but fellow Detroiter Iggy Pop once dismissed them as "rhinestone cowboys" from the West Coast.

Hunt Sales - Excessively Beautiful, Uncontrollably Evil

Born: 1954
Worked with a soul band (name unknown) at age 13. Joined Todd Rundgren's Utopia at 14.
Joined Bob Welch's band Paris, replacing Thom Mooney after the first album. Paris disbanded shortly after the release of the second album, partially because Hunt had contracted Bells Palsy.
- (Bells Palsy is a "benign weakness of the infratemporal portion of the facial nerve" (Learn More about Bells Palsy). Symptoms include a partial or complete paralysis on one side of the face. The condition is not life-threatening, and almost always improves within a year.)

Currently in Austin, TX, with his wife Antoinette (a fashion designer) and daughter Cali.
He now plays with a band named "Touch Velvet".

Taught to play guitar by Alan Merrill (Allan Sachs)
Taught to play bass by Carol Kaye, who played with Ray Charles, Sonny & Cher and the Monkees.
Was in a car accident in 1979. He was in a coma for eight months (because of the accident):

Upon recovering from the car accident, Tony joined Chequered Past. When Chequered Past split, Tony became disillusioned with Rock and Roll, and took up carpentry. He only returned to the music business upon meeting Bowie at the wrap-up party for the Glass Spider tour.
