     NEEDHAM  BUSBY was born 1752/54 in Johnston County, North Carolina.  He moved to Old Orangeburg District, Fairfield County, SC when a young man.  He lived there when the first census was taken in 1790.  In 1837 he was living in Lexington District, SC when a soldiers pension was granted to him at the age of 84.

     His son MICAJAH "CAJER" BUSBY, SR. was born in Orangeburg District, Fairfield County, South Carolina.  His birth or death date unknown at present.  He married Bodicy Barnes, daughter of John Barnes.  Their known children:

          1.  * Milack "Miles" Busby, born 1780
          2.  Sion, born 1801
          3.  Micajah Jr.
          4.  Jack, born 1844

    *     MILACK "MILES" BUSBY was born 1780.  He married Matilda Bell, daughter of Burrell Bell and Sophia Yancy.  It is thought Milack married twice.  By 1850 he and wife Matilda were found in Weakly County, Tennessee with  following children:  

          A.  John, born 1831
          B  * Nancy, born 1833, Sumner County, Tennessee
          C.  Matilda, born 1835
          D.  Denis, born 1838
          E.  Sarah, born 1841
          F.  Burrell, born 1842, Obion County, Tennessee
          G.  Shelton, born 1844
          H.  Mary, born 1848


       * NANCY ANN BUSBY, daughter of Milack and Matilda Bell Busby, was born 1833 in Sumner County, Tennessee.  She died 1920 in Newton County, Arkansas and is buried at the Sand Hill Cemetery near Yardell, Arkansas.

     Nancy married (1) Levi C. Bell October 18, 1854 in Weakly County, Tennessee.
From her pension application we know that  Levi died during the civil war, 1964 ca.  Their children are:

          A.  Buryl
          B.  James M. "Jim", born 1857, died 1930.  He married Virginia L. "Aunt Jenny" Watkins.  They are both buried at the Sand Hill Cemetery, Yardell, Arkansas.  Their children:

               1.  James Jr., born 1892
               2.  William Levi, born 1894, died 1965.  Married Ruth Raye.  4 children.
               3.  Sarah, born 1896.  Married Joe Fiveash.  2 children.
               4.  Tom Lee, born 1897, died 1958.
               5.  Brock, born 1900, died 1978.
               6.  Charles, born 1903.  Married Eva Hancock.  3 children
               7.  Liley, born 1885, died 1974.  Married John Fiveash.  6 children
               8.  Vesta.  Married Loyal Hancock.  2 children

          C.Nancy Ann, born 1863, died 1902/03.  Married (1) _____Ballard, one daughter Nancy; (2)  James Campbell.  4 children by this marriage.

          D.  Sarah Elizabeth, born 1860.  Married Joseph Lyles 1878 in Newton County, Arkansas.  8 children.

               1.  Nancy Elizabeth.  Married (1) Hiram Dexter Cowles
               2  Nora.  Married (1) Joseph Helt; (2) Bill Tennison
               3.  Gertie, born 1896, died 1934.  Married (1) George Hixon; (2) Hiram Dexter Cowles.
               4.  John B.
               5.  James
               6.  Doctor, born 1892, died 1957.  Married (1) Carrie V. Cowles; (2) Marie Wright.
               7.  William
               8.  George


     After LEVI BELL was killed in the civil war NANCY ANN BUSBY BELL married THOMAS LAWSON in Randolph County, Arkansas on 8-13-1866.  Thomas and Nancy were found on the 1870 census in Randolph County.  To date that is the last known record of Mr. Lawson.  Their children:

                 1.  * Thomas A. Lawson, born 1868.  Married (1) Charity Baughman; (2) Leuretta Mae Cowles.
