In the book "Rose And Allied Families" George H. describes the family coat of arms and motto as stated above.  The first crest is printed in the book and does not include the word "audio" in the motto.  The second crest was found painted on a ceramic tile and purchased by Billy J. Rose, son of Joseph.  It does contain the word "Audio".  They are both very close in appearance.  Perhaps the colored coat of arms was a later modified version.  I found the tartan on the "Scots On The Net"  website which identifies this cloth pattern belonging to the family name Rose of Scotland.
