Our guild is truly a patchwork of S.I.S.T.E.R.S. (Supportive Individuals Stitching Treasures & Enduring RemembranceS)! Founded in June of 1998, our guild is young and so are our hearts! We are a diverse group and have skill levels ranging from new beginners to master quilters. We are a not-for-profit group which promotes the art and love of quilting through community service, and encouraging each other.
Our meetings are fun filled events with food and lots of laughter. We would love for you to join us. Visitors are welcome to attend two meetings before deciding to join.
Meetings are the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month. Riverfront Community Center 123 S. Esplanade Street Leavenworth, Kansas We meet in the South Room from 7-9 p.m.
Membership Information: Membership is open to anyone interested in quilts or quilting. Members receive a monthly mailed newsletter packed with information and enjoy use of the lending library, bi-monthly meetings, workshops, and special events.
The guild year is September 1 through August 31. Membership is $25.
About our Name: Several months before this guild formed, Linda Harker, our founding President, instigated a block exchange between a group of local quilters. She chose a block named "Patchwork of Sisters" from the Australian Patchwork Magazine. It was such a fun, bonding, experience that Linda and the founding members knew it was THE name for our guild.
