The Wonder Years

High School is closer to the core of the teenage experience than anything else I know of..

It was all over so soon..

In December '99 ,I closed a chapter of my life (or did I ?!)that had lasted eight long years. Eight years of tests, homework, screaming teachers(OK !OK! .. some of them atleast ..) ,unbelievable boredom, blah blah ,..and then there were friends, chums to exchange those high fives with .., buddies to talk to at 2:30 A.M. , that GANG(which still exists *pat!pat!*), acting in all those wonderful plays , winning a few prizes and medals ... umm , not such a bad deal after all I guess ..

Despite(and I don't deny it you see..) how eager I was to finally get out of school, I find myself wanting it to last just a little bit longer. I've met so many people along the way. I've shared my life with them and they've shared their lives with me, though neither was always by choice. How is it to wake up one morning and know that you don't have to go back ?.. guess anyone who has never graduated will never really know..

Could it all come to an end so soon? A tête-à-tête in the football field , a handshake, and a piece of paper--it's over.

I find myself lingering through the halls just a bit longer. I try to make the most of the hours when I go back to meet the teachers . Even the canteen food doesn't taste quite so bad. Will I ever again find a place that cooks such horribly small samosas?

Good-bye,DPS. You've been my second home for so long, no wonder, I find myself wiping away tears I didn't know were there.

Ritesh would like to congratulate the class of 1999.Wish you lots of luck in the future.
