Lindsayflowers

Lindsay Tarleton was diagnosed with cancer in the summer of 1997. Since then she has undergone continuous chemo treatments and medication from her doctors. But WHO is Lindsay?

In May of 1999, Lindsay's uncle, Gene Fair, sent out a global message announcing that his niece needed our prayers. Ever since that month we have seen Lindsay in a way not many people could have ever thought possible before the internet became a part of our lives. For a while, we all prayed for this Lindsay who had cancer and was from Ohio. But now we pray for Lindsay, God's servant. In an e-mail I received from Gene, or Uncle Wally as Lindsay calls him, he describes Lindsay's Spirit by saying, "and as Lindsay has repeatedly said - she wins either here or in heaven."

Lindsay once told me that she had become saved in January of 1999. From the time she became saved, her faith has become so very strong. Mere words can not describe her faith and love for God. When I get to talk to her, I can see that our God is truly and Awesome God! And to listen to her speak about Him is a blessing. Lindsay spends some time in prayer for all of those who are praying for her. She asks God to bless all those who pray for her. And we are blessed, by knowing Lindsay and seeing her testimony unfold.

Another part of Lindsay I would like to share with you is her love for God's wonderful creatures. She loves all animals, and when people ask me what her favorite animal is, I have to say ALL of them! She has a lovely cat that she calls her little sister. The family says this cat is treated better than humans, which I found was true when I visited her. Lindsay is the element that keeps her family together. The love they have for her is so great. And she returns that love ten fold. When she is in pain, they are in pain. But Lindsay always finds a way to perk them up. I do not know many people who can do that.

Her life before the cancer was much like any other teenage girl. She was in the select choir in her school, and Lindsay also "brought the house down" in plays like "Up the Down Staircase". Her life since the cancer has been far from normal. From trips to the hospital and clinic, to the cancer camps she attends, these past two years have been a struggle. And to make matters worse, the cancer spread to her bladder this year. But Lindsay stood strong by her faith. A negative word about this experience has not passed her lips. She has used this cancer has a step in her relationship with Christ.

I have had the unique opportunity to become a close friend of Lindsay's. Every conversation we have is a blessing to me. Her words are so full of Spirit and Grace. Lindsay always talks about how Jesus took her cancer to the cross and that "by His stripes" she is healed. Everytime she says that she raises her hands in praise to the Lord. She brings such a peace to the hearts of all of us. In such a short time, she has touched the lives of thousands.

There is not just one word that I could use to describe Lindsay, but many words do come to mind; Faithful, Loving, Caring, Strong, Spirited, Joyful, and the list could go on. As a matter of fact, I could go on forever describing Lindsay. However, I am going to conclude by saying Lindsay's testimony is an example of God's grace, power, mercy, and love. Her faith and our prayers have healed her. "Thank you, Lord Jesus, for taking this cancer to the cross. Thank you for Your healing hands. All Glory be Your's in this miracle. AMEN!" And Thank You, Lindsay, for making us a part of your testimony. These pages are our "Thank You and Love" to you. God Bless
