" I used to know my grandpa real well.We used to make rocking chairs from a regular tree by using an axe , sand paper , rasp , hand drill and glue. We used to talk to each other all the time about everything. He used to tell me stories about when he was young and of when he used to drink. He told me about one incident that happened when he was in WWII. He said he was really scared and alone , and that he was so tired that he could hardly hold his eyes open.He climbed into a fox hole and fell asleep. When he woke up ,there were dead Germans lying on top of him.
He used to tell me lots of interesting stories . Two years ago, though, he had a stroke , and he's not been the same. Now he acts angry or mad at someone all the time. He never talks to me any more unless I say something first. He can't even remember my name . I keep telling him my name ,but he can't remember.
It will never be the same again." |
