Alice, Texas, USA is a very nice town. We moved here from Callifornia and have fallen in love with it. The population is around 22,000, which makes it small enough to where if you go to Wal-Mart or HEB, you are bound to get into a conversation with someone that you know, or meet someone that you can talk to, but big enough to have most everything that you need.. It is about 45 minutes from Corpus Christi, so we have all the thrills of a big city less than an hour away.  San Antonio and it's mall are only about an hour and a half away, and if we really want to shop till we drop, Houston, Galveston, and the Outlet malls there are four hours away. Most everything except some of the pictures are linked to information about Alice, so explore our little town....
Lake Alice in the Springtime
Working around Alice is pretty good, the economy is driven by the oilfields. In it's heyday, Alice was known as the "Hub City" Flourishing in the oil business. Today it is still mostly oilfield and agriculture, but has grown and diversified. With two prisons about an hour or so away, and two new hospitals opening, Alice is growing by leaps and bounds.
We can go fishing off the piers in Port Aransas, or travel about an hour north to lake Corpus Christi and fish for Bass or Catfish, along with Crappie and Bluegill and Gar. We do have a small lake here, but it isn't big enough to get a boat on.
Dove hunting here is excellent, and the deer hunting is pretty good, if you can find an open lease.
