Is Christmas Christian?
Jeremiah 10:1 Hear ye the word which the Lord speaketh unto you, O house of Israel; 2 Thus saith the Lord, "Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. 3 For the customs of the people are vain: For one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. 4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. 5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: They must needs be borne, because they can not go. Be not afraid of them; for they can not do evil, neither also is it in them to do good."

In A.D. 349, Pope Julius formally selected December 25 as the DAY for Christmas. This date was already widely celebrated in the Roman world as citizens observed the Natalis Solis Invicti (the Birthday of the Inconquerable Sun) in honor of the sun god, Mithras. The festival took place just after the winter solstice, when the days become longer. Many modern Christmas customs such as decorating a house with greenery, exchanging gifts, and enjoying festive meals originated with this pagan celebration. Scholars believe that Pope Julius selected December 25 as the date of the Nativity to win over followers of Mithras as well as to give Christians an opportunity to honor Christ's birth.


OUTLAWED FESTS

In seventeenth century England, the Puritans objected to Christian celebrations that had no clear biblical basis (the Bible does not tell us to celebrate Jesus' birthday). As a result, the English Parliament in 1643 outlawed Christmas, Easter, and other Christian holidays. However, December 25 as a festive day was so popular that by 1660 the citizens reclaimed it.
When the Pilgrims arrived in Plymouth, Massachusetts, in 1620 they also brought with them a distrust of Christmas. A 1659 Massachusetts law fined people for celebrating on December 25. But again, the day was so popular that the law was repealed in 1681, although strong religious opposition lasted into the next century.
Lutherans, Dutch Reformed, Catholic, and Anglican churches were most responsible for establishing Christmas traditions in the United States. Baptists, Presbyterians, Quakers, and Puritans voiced opposition to the day because of the pagan origins of most of the Christmas festivities.

Santa(Satan)Claus
As a Christian you should never lie to your children, and especially about Santa Claus. Santa is made out to be a god. He knows all, sees all and rewards all, and he sits on a throne that you bring your children to. That is a respect due only to God Almighty. In scripture Satan wants to be worshipped and be like the Most High.(Isa 14:14) Santa fills that position very well. And there are scriptures to back that up. Santa is a counterfeit of Jesus Christ

Satan will do anything to take our eyes and our thoughts off of Jesus, and divert our attention away from God.

Your children grow up and learn the truth about Santa and find out you lied to them, then you tell them about Jesus and you expect your children to believe you. No wonder we really don't believe God's word. But we all too much believe whatever we hear on TV or from what the anti christ media says. They pump their propaganda into our minds, and we become so liberal and brainwashed we can't even think for ourselves. We don't take God's word serious, we really don't believe what he said. With the watered down gospel we hear every week at church, with all the pagan practices taking place in church, how can God bless us, or this nation. When we so blatantly disobey him. There is a force out there and has been there a long time, that has a agenda to destory God's word and decieve his people and try to destory and divide us. The only chance we have is to stay close to God through his word. And always pray for guidance in all things, and pray for our eyes to be opened to the enemy. And remember God's enemies are our enemies.

Baptist preacher Charles H. Spurgeon opened a sermon on 24 December 1871 with the following words:
“We have no superstitious regard for times and seasons. Certainly we do not believe in the present ecclesiastical arrangement called Christmas: first, because we do not believe in the mass at all, but abhor it, whether it be said or sung in Latin or in English; and, secondly, because we find no scriptural warrant whatever for observing any day as the birthday of the Saviour; and, consequently, its observance is a superstition, because not of divine authority.”
