VFW Post 8661 Help

There are many ways of providing help through VFW Post 8661. First, is by volunteering your time to help in the local communities, schools or aid in our country breakfast, raffle ticket sales and poppy sales. If your time is limited, then a tax deductible donation could be used to benefit our veterans. If you are interested in volunteering or contributing a tax deductible donation to benefit America's veterans please send us an email. We will contact you and discuss how you may be able to provide support.

Our members provide assistance to America's veterans through comradeship, visitation, comfort, support and perpetuating their memory. We also work with local community associations in various programs. Some projects that our members work on are:

Promoting the Voice of Democracy and Patriot's Pen (Youth Essay) contests for local schools

Providing comfort and support to veterans, widows and children.

Provide color guard at American veteran's funerals

Provide flag ceremonies before home football games at Platte County High School

Contribute coffee & donuts for travelers on Labor Day

Provide flags to local cemeteries

Conduct ceremonies on Memorial Day and Veteran's Day

Spruce up local cemeteries prior to Veteran's day

Provide various donations as funds allow

Volunteer for various community projects
