What a heartwarming site!! I LOVE Donkeys and Mules! Raised trained and showed Apps, POA's, and Welsh Ponies back in the 60' and 70's while living in Tx. and always hoped to get a jenny. Never was able too, however. I'm looking for a mini rex for my only granddaughter who LOVES all kinds of rabbits. We have a friend with a calico rex,"Vickie", and Katie just adores her.Vickie is a therapy rabbit and was bred at the Seminole High school Ag. program. Seminole is about 30 min. drive from us and we considered getting a bunnie from them, but really need a mini size one. I love your mules. My husband and I are buying a 4 1/2 acre place in Green County, dirt roads nearby and lots of woods. We'd love to get a trail riding mule for a pet. Is it true mules are smarter than horses? Are they good with kids? Sadly we don't see as many mules as horses for sale around here. Someday we want to get a riding mule, well broke, 14.5-15.5 h, pref. gaited, with friendly and fun personality. I never knew mules could be appaloosa or pinto till I saw yours. The jennets are black with white points and standing between 14 and 15 hands. Have you had any luck in getting a jennet in foal to a stud horse? And if so....what's the trick? I just wanted to take a minute and let you know how much I enjoyed your website. My husband has trained thoroughbred racehorses at Detroit Race Course since 1970. I met him while I worked there (On horseback, of course) in 1985. We worked side by side nd had a very good record, of course we had our ups and downs. Anyway, we had two sons, who began thier first real riding experience on mules. These were saddle mules that a trainer kept at his farm for the purpose of raccoon hunting. I was very taken ith the intellegent and easy going manner of these animals. I could saddle them up, put my toddlers aboard and work with another horse while they would amble around the arena. As the boys grew a little older, they brought friends with them. They learn d that if they had a friend stand at the end of the arena and shake a bucket of grain, the mules would race to get to it...even if it was just a fast jog. My favorite memories are of mules and those big understanding eyes. I could talk to them and they eem to know my every word. Well now the track up here has closed down, My husband and I are driving school buses for the time being. I also have a small art business; commission oil paintings of horses and farm scenes. I have a small herd of rabbits, dwarfs that I used to breed and show but they are just pets now. So you see, we have a lot of the same interests, I just love your watercolors! I seem to be stuck with the heavier mediums, I always made a mess out of watercolor, but you sure have the talent for it. We are renovating a 40 acre Farm in Indiana and we just have to get new fence up and then I can get a horse (or mule!) for pleasure riding and we are gonna need a PonyHorse (or mule) to help with training the two year olds anyway! The only thing is that some of the thoroughbreds can be a little pushy, if ya know what I mean, so I will need a good size mule. I know that you msut be really bus , but if you could give me any pointers on what I should look for in a good mule, I'd appreciate any input you could give me. I have looked at several in Indiana, but they seem to breed a lot of tenesee walker mares. I'm not sure I would like that. Thanks again for letting me visit your web site. I bought two mules four years ago; both of them foundered ---mules aren't supposed to do that!! I loved them but couldn't ride them, which is ewhy I bought them. I was such a novice that I didn't even know the word founder. Then I bought two miniature onkeys (a couple of months old)that were SO incredibly mean to all my sheep and goats and my other two horses, plus they grew too big to be registered. Thanks for letting me know about your site. We really enjoyed it. There is nothing like a good mule. We have five saddle mules, two johns and three mollys. Two were professionally trained at Bridgman's Stables at Varysburg, NY. They are wonderful. M grandaughter, Katie, can ride all of them and can clean their feet and clip them and load them in a trailer. She is nine years old, and has been doing this since she was seven, but she has been riding our donkeys since she was about three. At one time e had 36 donkeys and expecting 16 babies, but we had to cut our heard. We call our place "Windy-Ass Corners." My card does appear in some of the donkey magazines. Thanks again for E-mailing us and letting us know of your great site. We will visit you again.

What a neat group of mules! Gorgeous! I learned to ride on a mule and have always had a soft spot for them. Have tried to talk my husband into getting a jenny to breed to one of our App studs, but he's not having it - course we have 17 here now, counting he 2 new babies, and 4 more expected. Great site and will check back to see new babies.

not bad looking jack..how tall? like to have a jennet that is colored up like he is for my mammoth jack to cross on..i raise mule jacks mostly, blacks and sorrels..mostly blacks now as using black jacks..have all color jennets except a spot..most now want too much just for the color and do not have size of conformation..like your site, trying to get one myself..regards, gene irelan, irelan farm
