Velvet was born on June 16th 1996.  At two years old
she was already 15H's. Now at the age of three she stands
15.3 and is STILL growing.  She is out of a 15.2 mare and a
large standard jack.  She will go into training for a saddle mule in April.

She is about 1 month old in this picture. Playing in
the field.

Here she is winning first overall.
She is about 2 1/2 months old here.

One lazy summer morning in '98, at two years
old she already is taller then most animals on our farm.
Very sweet and loving mule.  Loves to be with people.
 
 

She has such sweet gentle eyes.  A real
people pleaser.  We just love her.  She will
be my main riding mule until Louie is old enough
to be ridden.

Well Velvet is doing great with her training. She is now four years old and standing at 16.2 H's. Hopefully she is done growing, I am only 5'4". So it makes for a long way up to the stirup.

Velvet was getting the packs fitted for her first trip into the wilderness. She spent two weeks helping the guys hunt for moose.
