John Jackson Greenway, son of W. M. and M. J. Greenway, deceased, was born July 15, 1895, near LaCrosse, Kansas, and departed this life April 16th, 1928, in Tucson, Arizona, after a lingering illness of five months, having attained the age of 32 years, 9 months, and 1 day. He was the tenth child of a family of eleven.

John Jackson Greenway was married to Orrie B. Welch, March 16th, 1916. To this union were born three sons and one daughter, James, Dec. 29, 1916; Jackson, Mar. 20, 1918 ; Milford, April 10, 1920; Virginia, Feb. 16, 1922. In 1923, he accompanied his father to California, and later sent for his family. They resided in Richmond, California, and he was in the employ of the Key System Transit Company, of Oakland, California. The last four months of his illness were spent with his brother, N. B. Greenway, in Tucson, Arizona.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife and four children; four sisters, Mrs. Cora E. Swisher, of Deerfield, Kansas; Sarah E. Hill, of LaCrosse, Kansas; Mrs. Lilly R. Newman, of LaCrosse, Kansas; and Mrs. Rachel E. Blake; and four brothers, A. K. Greenway, of McCracken, Kansas; H. B. Greenway, of MaCracken, Kansas; N. B. Greenway of Tucson, Arizona; and W. J. Greenway of LaCrosse, Kansas; two brothers having preceded him into the great beyond. He also leaves twenty-five nephews and nieces and other relatives, and numerous friends.
