Mardi Gras Madness

Way down yonder in New Orleans it's time for Mardi Gras! This year Mardi Gras in on February 16, 1999! Hope to see y'all there. Enjoy some of my favorite links on Mardi Gras and New Orleans:

GO FOR THE GOLD! SEE THE BEST PARADE IN TOWN! CORPS de NAPOLEON. This parade depicts the French heritage of New Orleans. Parade night is February 14, 1999! What a way to spend Valentine's Day!

CORPS de NAPOLEON'S Coronation Ball was held on January 23, 1999. The theme of the Ball and the parade is "ADORING DUOS". Emperor Napoleon is Randy Neider and Empress Josephine is Rosemarie Coble. There are 6 maids. The first three Maids depict Pocahantas & John Smith, Xena & Hercules, and Minnie & Mickey Mouse. The other three Maids depict Peter Pan & Tinkerbell, Popeye & Olive Oyl, and Beauty and the Beast. Some of the people who make this parade happen are Captain Irvy Cosse, Jr. and the Officers: Chip Cosse III, Fred Brechtel, Jr., Al Maranto, and Jay Michell.

Wish you could have gone to the Coronation Ball? Well, you can! I have a few pictures I would like to share with you, thanks to my sister-in-law, Carla.

Corps de Napoleon had a party after the parade. This party is called the "After Parade Party". It is a semi-formal event but the float riders are in costume. I will be adding pictures in a few days. Please reture to view these pictures.
