The information following is from Illinois 1880 census records, cemetery listings, my Grandmother (Dudley) Croft and Roger Dudley, decendant of Elijah Dudley. Thomas Dudley info. is up for research, but probate records list son, Moses and his wife, Sarah Newman, which we assume is part of our family.

Moses Dudley would have been born 1808/9 in Kentucky (f. Thomas Dudley, mo. ?), was illiterate and census lists both of his parents born in Virginia. He married Sarah Newman, (she was born in Vermont and tho we don't have her parents first names, census lists them both born in Massachusetts) in Bartholomew Co, IL. Moses bought land in 1834 in IN, then they moved to Fountain Co., IN and by 1838 (according to obit.) moved to Barry, IL. He owned 40 acres in Pike Co., IL. (1847- NW qtr. of SW qtr of section 12, twp. 5 south range six west). Their sons; Reuben, sylvester, John G. and John Jesse served in 99th IL INF in Civil War. Afterward, much of the family would move to southern Missouri due to land grants for Civil War service (Cedar and St. Clair Co.), but some would return to Pike Co., IL. from 1873-6

John Guy DUDLEY, b. 9-12-1843 (IL), d. 8-16-1877 (Stony Point Cemetery, Adams Co, Il) married in Pike Co. Illinois June 21, 1866 to Margaret Ann Parker, b. 9-02-1850; d. 1-06-1936 and they lived in Pleasant Vale and Derry, IL township where all three their children were born. She was born in Kentucky and her parents both from Pennsylvania. John enlisted in 99th IL INF in Civil War on 8-05-1862 and mustered 8-23-1862. She never remarried when he died and at some time after 1880 census moved to Kansas then Council Bluffs, IA where she is buried next to her mother, Eliza Parker and brother, Robert Parker.

Wiggins (b. 4-8-1839 Floyd, Oneida Co., New York / d. 3-6-1912 Adrian, MI), mother, Clarissa Ann RUSS (b. 2-19-1845, Springfield, MI / d. 12-??-1885, Adrian, MI) who married 8-16-1871. LaVerna's grandfather was Annin Wiggins. George was educated up to a Ph.D in Education and LaVerna had a M.A. in the same field. Both George and LaVerna are buried in Papillion, NE.
