CyberFamilY
I think one
of the greatest thing about getting this computer
was learning
how to do email ~ chatting ~ and meeting people
that I doubt
I would have ever had the opportunity to meet
and get to
know, if it wasn't for the world of the internet.
Below you
will meet my friends that have became like family to
me. I first
met with a few in Feb. 1997, when I stumbled into a
thread on
Shop Talk sponsored by QVC.
Since then,
our family has grown. We fondly say "always room
for one more".
~ Here we have
Mary and Ralph ~
Mary is often
referred to as "head chick" ~ "mother hen" ~ or I like
to call her
"the matriarch" of our cyber family.
She likes
to keep track of her "chicks" and if she hasn't
heard from
one of us in a while, she is out emailing us to check in :)
Her husband
Ralph is known as "Mary's Chef" or often referred to by
me as "the
chef"
He keeps Mary
well fed and allows her to share his recipes.
Most famous
is Ralph's bread pudding.
I had
the pleasure of getting to meet Ralph and Mary through
the help of
cyberpals Cheryl and Sam
It was my
first plane trip ever, but was
definitely
worth the trip. I can say first hand that Ralph is an
excellent
cook.
Mary recently blessed us with a copy of their cookbook they compiled.
Mary is the
one who helped convince me to do a webpage:)
Please take
time to join Mary at her
Peaceable
Kingdom
Virginia
LOL ~ Virginia
~ is still keeping us guessing on her age and what she
looks like
:)
She is the
one that provides us with jokes ~humor~recipes~
great sites
to check out. She knows I love the musical card sites and
sends me several
to look at. Because of the time zone difference,
it is hard
for us to catch each other in chat.
Her hubby
~ Don~ will make a visit with us on occasion.
He is known
to us as "Santa". There is a story behind that:)
~Karen~
Karen
is the one that helps add color to our life with gifs and
color text
on our thread. She also supplies us with jokes and humor.
She shares
her love for pets with us.
Can put us
into stitches in chat.
In one chat
site she used the name Kalee and we sometimes still
refer to her
by that name.
Karen is the
other pal who convinced me to do a webpage.
~ Janie~
Janie keeps
us entertained daily with gifs ~ cards ~ poems ~ humor ~
jokes and
more.
LOL ~ I have
had her busy looking for midis - gifs - backgrounds, etc
to use
here. She makes a great assistant. She is the one to find the
basset back
ground for Sebastian's page and the card gif below.
I had always
loved peotry since a teen, but had gotten away from
it over the
years. Since meeting Janie, I have renewed my
interest in
poetry and she keeps me supplied with poems
to read.

Susan
Susan joins
us in chat. LOL - she tries to keep our spelling correct,
but typos
are a rule of thumb. She fills us with laughs over stories
of family
and pets. Her one pet "Giz" makes an occasional
guest appearance
~ walking across keyboard.
I remember
us "watching" the Academy awards together. We were
in chat and
both agreed it was like sitting together
in the
livingroom watching it.
Laurie
She has brought
us alot of laughs with her humor and wit. She
can be in
rare form on some days. We recently enjoyed "watching"
her learn
to drive.
She
humors us with jokes and shares stories about her everyday life.
Rosie
Rosie brings
us joy with stories on her family.
She keeps
herself busy with her grandchildren and has allowed us
to share in
"watching" them grow.
She, too,
gets on the line if email is quiet and reminds us
it is time
to check in.
Kenna
Kenna is the
first of our group to do a webpage ~ Kenna's
Kozy Komforts
She recently
updated her pages, but prior to that, you could find
many of our
pictures there.
Her husband
retired and they recently purchased ground nearer to
her children.
They are in process of building a new home, so at the
moment her
cybertime is limited. We hope it won't be long
before she
is back visiting with us.
Cheryl and
Sam
Both are very
witty and a barrel of chuckles. Zany is another
word that
comes to mind when I think of them.
It is through
them, that I was able to make my trip to meet
them, as well
as Ralph and Mary. I mentioned to Cheryl
in chat one
night that I would love to meet Mary, but was leery of
flying for
first time and to place I've never been. Without
missing a
beat ~ she offered to meet me at the airport and
opened their
home to me. "took me under their wings"
My husband
was leery of me going until I told him of the offer and
then he told
me to go "I feel better there is someone on that
end to meet
you". They were great hosts and kept me "safe"
At their home
and Ralph and Mary's I felt right at home.
Cheryl is
the one we count on if someone is in need of help
or if a love
one is lost ~ we like to send a plant. Between her and
Sam the plants
or care packages are delivered.
Betty
Betty is our
queen of typos in chat. We can be rolling on the floor
over some
of them. Put her together with Susan~Mary~Karen and
soon all seriousness
is gone and replaced with laughter.
Betty recently
became a Grandma for the first time. We got to
share in her
daughter-in-law's pregnancy and the birth of "JR"
Like all grandma's
she keeps us up todate with all his firsts
and pictures.
Dianne
Dianne fills
us with laughter over purple hair ~ smoking a broom
stick ~ "fixing
her puter" ~ her pets, etc.
Annie and daughters
Annie is our
"baby". She has her own craft business and from
picture sent
~ she is good at them. She is busy with her two children
and starting
up a new business, but does stop to "chick" in when our
"Mother Hen"
tells her it is time:)
Lea
Lea takes us
traveling with her hubby in their RV. This time last year
we made a
trip across the United States through her email.
Well traveling
they bought a home in Texas. They are now in process
of selling
home in Maryland (anyone interested in waterfront
property email
me:) Our group is wrapped up in pretzel shape, with
all cross
that old home sells quick for her and hubby so they can
migrate south.
Lea has given
us laughs with stories on learning to golf.
Patti and daughters
Patti shares
with us her interest in England and the royal family.
Sends us stories
from and England paper. She also shares many
stories on
her daughters
Linda
Linda provides
us with Monday humor and jokes. Also gives us
laughs with
work related stories.
Evelyn was
the last to join our cyberfamily. She was a school friend of
Mary's. She
has been a wonderful addition to our family.
Brings us
daily email with thoughts to ponder and humor.
Jim and I
I am often referred to as the "cybernurse". Trying to keep our family
as healthy
as possible :)
