In To Be or Not To Be, a movie by Mel Brooks, Brooks plays an actor in wartime Poland. While he's trying to keep things going during the war, his wife is busy flirting with the local Nazi commander in order to keep him from shutting the theatre down. At one point, the subject of her husband comes up and she is surprised to hear that the commander has never heard of the actor. "He's world famous in Poland," she says.
I suspect many of these "famous" family members may be well-known in exactly the same sense as the Mel Brooks character: "but he or she is world famous in ... "
