This web site is designed to aid people in adoption searches.  We are a Rhode Island based group and our concentration is on Rhode Island adoptions, but we do offer links that shed light on the general adoption experience.

RHODE ISLAND ADULT ADOPTEE RIGHTS COALITION ~~ RI*AARC
is an internet group of adoptee, birthparents and others with ties to adoption in RI.  We are actively seeking to enact legislative reform to the RI adoption laws regarding adult adoptees access to state held birth records.  We welcome YOUR help in our legislative efforts here in RI.

RI*AARC
maintains a free reunion registry for RI.  We ask you to add your name to our growing list of people who support an adoptee's right to know.  Please contact ri_aarc@hotmail.com to request information and to receive a registry form via email.

Below is a list of agencies that have been involved in adoptions in Rhode Island in the 60's.  We encourage you to contact your agency for "non-identifying" information and to seek their support for adult adoptee access to state held birth information.

Catholic Social Services has been disbanded by the Diocese of Providence and all records are kept with Life and Family Ministry. Once a request is made for non-identifying information the contact person will pull the files and get back to the person requesting the information in a timely manner.  Be prepared with a tape recorder or pen and paper.  The information will be read to you over the phone.  No information will be mailed.  You can request your information at:
