If I had to pick my most favorite place, I would have to pick Warren and McKean Counties, in Pennsylvania. Come with me to a picturesque view.
Rim Rock, nestled in the Beautiful Allegheny National Forest, in northwestern Pennsylvania, has been a very popular scenic attraction.  Since the Allegheny Reservoir was built, it has become even more popular. Since it is visible from the water, I am sure many boaters also enjoy this wonder of nature.
Standing on top of the rock, looking down over the edge, really make you appreciate the wonders of nature. Time has broken off pieces of the boulder that are larger than cars. Once you get to the bottom you can see how large they are.
Standing at the base of Rim Rock where it enters the soil, looking up is really an impressive view. The Allegheny National Forest consist of a lot of maple and aspen.  In the fall when the leave turn colors, the forest color is golden yellow.
The huge rock has a crack running down through the middle.  A stairway has been built down through the crack that is large enough so that you can walk the stairs down to the bottom.  Here you are able to see where the stairway exits the rock.
Once you have reached the bottom, the path will lead you around the hill, underneath parts of the boulder. I will make you seem so small standing there.  In the spring the Mountain Laurel blooms and the woods are full of the beautiful pink flowers, nestled in the dark greens leaves of the shrubbery.
A very scenic path leads around the base of the rock.  Here there are many things for people of all ages to enjoy. Children will be able to climb upon the large rocks, while adults admire the scenery. Plan to take a lunch and spend a while.
One game that most children enjoy playing is hide and seek.  So many places to hide will require one to search many places. Make sure to check out all the cracks in the rocks.
Also at the base of the boulder, you can over look the beautiful Allegheny Reservoir.  The Reservoir goes from near Warren Pennsylvania up into New York State. Though I have never fished there since the reservoir was built, I hear the the fishing is fantastic.
