Kirby helped the Twins win two world series. (vs St. Louis 1987 and vs Atlanta 1991) He wore number 34, which is currently hung in the Metrodome in the twins cities. Kirby leads the club in hits, Runs, Total bases and Doubles. Kirby was also selected as MLB's Man of the Year in 1996.

After receiving a pitch to the left temple,
the great centerfeilder for the Minnesota Twins had to retire, due to blind spots in his right eye.  his career was relatively short, but his memory shall live on forever.  kirby is currently involved with the Minnesota Twins franchise and will remain there for a very long time.
