history of class 1991

IN THE BEGINNING: OUR FRESHMEN YEAR

Look at how time flies! It seems like only yesterday when we were just a bunch of rowdy kids loitering in the corridors. Full of zest and jest, we struggled in our first year in high school. Longing for acceptance, we did everything possible that a freshman can accomplish.

In retrospect, what first leaps to our minds are the good old days that have passed when we first hit the corridors. Noisy brats with childishness in our hearts, we oftentimes forgot that we were already in high school. It seemed that we were hardly ready for this kind of life. Still tied to our mothers' apron - strings, we did not know what to do. But our coping mechanisms went to work.

Yes, our Freshmem year was indeed a time for adjustments. We had to adjust --- new teachers, new facesm new friends, strange subjects and a new outlook in our academic life.

Our Freshmen year also served as a time for discovery. Yes, we discovered many things. So many, in fact. We learned some of life's aspects in and out of school. We discovered what parties were made of. We also learned what girls were made of. We ventured in the world of illegals. Our Freshmen year of discovery made us aware of the real life --- academic life, that is. We mastered the art of cheating. We discovered strategies to pass our tests, made our teachers cry, even made one had a cast in his hand, learned to get out of difficult situations, made palusots and made our teachers smile. We discovered the joys and wholesome ways of enjoying the nightlife. In other words, we discovered what it means to be a Freshman.

Those among you who have been with us since our first day in high school can attest to the changes we had to undergo. All of them, for sure, for the better. But, we did not forget that life had its ups and downs. We failed and stumbled but we stood up again, ready to face the challenges in high school.

As we sort out fond memories in our Freshmen year, we recall how things were and how they could have been. Our memories in our first year in high school are made up of our friends, teachers and even our enemies. Without them, our memories would be dull and insignificant. But most importantly, there is God and our parents who stood by us in times of need.

At first we thought that our first year was something we could not manage on our own. But as the days went by, we learned to face life. Without help from our teachers, friends, parents and God, we certainly could not have managed.

To others, this is just a parting word to our freshmen year. But to us, this is a recollection of our past, our fond memories of our first year. We recall the cheers of our freshmen year and also the jeers and sneers. But what else can we do? Just smile at the good old days when we found it easy to pass our subjects but hard to adjust.

As we travel back in time, we cannot forget the lessons in life that the past has taught us, gathering all that we have learned from our experiences. How can we disregard the memories that make up our first year in high school? How can we forget our colorful freshmen year? Forget not, especially the memories that bring out the little boys in us.

Join as us we climb another chapter in our historic years, Our Sophomore Year.
