This
month…The first winner of the new Alness Citizen of the Year went
to Bob Dingwall of Obsdale Park.
In
his speech, John Connell, Chairman of the Millennium Committee said
“We are extremely fortunate in Alness that there are so many volunteers
who quietly provide many services we take for granted or in many cases
are aware these services exist.
When
making our decision we felt we would in the first presentation give
it to an individual who has in there own quiet way dedicated a tremendous
amnount of time to raising funds or contributing untold hours to various
organizations. There are many such individuals in Alness who would warrant
the award, alas there can only be one.”
We
look back, as usual, over the events in Alness over the past year. And
look forward to a very busy 2001
