The Complete Midi File Directory
The first link is a compilation of links to midi sources all over the net. If you need a midi, this is the place to start your search. There are links here to all different types of music with some sites rated as to the quality of files you will find there.
The last two sources contain some good, quality midi files in a nicely organized format. I am particularly fond of New Age music and am impressed to find some Enya, Enigma, and Yanni selections on these pages. I also am a Celine Dion fan and always on the lookout for quality midis of her music.
Friendly Folks
After struggling adnaseum to set up my page to have border backgrounds, I was about to give up and declare defeat. I had tried numerous times the old *set up a two column table and make the left cell this wide and the right cell that wide* and found it to be a totally unreliable method. No matter what I did, text always found its way into my borders! Disgusting! Then, I found my way to Windy's Fashionable Page Designs and noticed that Windy shares a very dependable method for using border backgrounds! She uses something called a VSpacer which is a transparent gif. The transparent image holds the column in which the border appears at a steady width. I have used this method with different width borders, varying the width of the VSpacer as needed, and found it to be 100% reliable in both MS Internet Explorer and Netscape. Thanks Windy!
Another thing I have struggled with is getting midi controls onto my page without having some big ugly image glaring out of the pages. When I visited Charmaine's Place in Space, I saw a cute little image with a musical note on it. This was Charmaine's midi control button! I wrote Charmaine a note asking her how to do this, and she was nice enough to provide me with the code. Thanks so much, Charmaine!
