"The Rosewood Casket" by Sharyn McCrumb
This takes place on an Appalachian farm.  Randall Stargill lived on the family farm for many generations.  As he knows he is dying he writes down how he wants his wake and furneral.  He leaves this for his  4 son's to see when they are called home.  One of his request is for the boys to work together and make him a casket out of the rosewood that has been in the family for many, many years.
As with most of the farm family's the children have gone off to the bigger cities to make a living.  Leaving the farms to be sold for subdivisions.  The boys have a hard time deciding what to do with the farm after Randall Stargill passes.
I enjoyed reading about the lives of the Appalachian farmers.  This book would talk about the past as well as the future of the farms.

"Net Force" by Tom Clancy's
I didn't think I was going to like this one as I started reading.  I first though it had two many plots.  I gave it a chance and found that it was a very good book.  I didn't have trouble following.
The story takes place in the year 2010 and computers are "the new superpowers"
With all this power of course someone wants to take over and cause famine, chaos, and death all over the world.
The Net Force has to find out who is responsible before they take over the world.
A very interesting book.  Well writen.  And food for thought.

"Prayers for the Dead" by Faye Kellerman
I do like to read Faye Kellerman.  I find her style east and very enjoyable.  At times I can't put the book down.
Prayers for the Dead is about the murder of a well know heart surgeon Azor Sparks.
As Peter Decker works on this case he and his wife uncover "a web of greed, passion, and terible truths". (On cover of book)
Great book.

I have read several books about angels.  They are still packed away and I don't remember the names or the authors.  I will update when I find which box they are in :)

"The Horse Whisperer"
by
A very good book. With clever twist and turns.  Must read.

"The Messengers"
by Julia Ingram and G.W. Hardin
Was somewhat disappointed to find that it was not a book of short stories about people's experiences with angles.  i guess I didn't read the cover very well.
The book is written as "A True Story of Angelic Presence and the Return to the Age of Miracles".
This book tells of one mans experiences, during regression therapy, as he went back to another of his lives.  During his previous life he was Paul and walked with Jesus.
There is much to think about as I read this book.  I do not believe in reincarnation so I found it hard to believe that this is a true story.  Never the less I found this book very interestiing.  Even to think about what it might have been like to walk with Jesus was very interesting.
I do believe in Angels and that they do give us the messages we neeed for our lives.

"Special Delivery" by Danielle Steel
This is the first Danielle Steel book I have read.  I did like the romanic nove.  It was tastefully written.

"Five Days In Paris" by Danielle Steel
This is the second Danielle Steel book I have read.  I found the book to be very good.  I also found it to be too much like "Special Delivery", the plots where very similar.

"Rose Cottage" by Mary Stewart
I enjoyed this novel.  It keep my interest all through the book.  I enjoyed reading about England and the ways of the small town with the "Rose Cottage".

"The Last Day" by Glenn Kleier
Boy is this interesting.  Talk about a lot to think about.  A very interesting turn of events all through out "The Last Day".
This book brings together all of today's possibilities with cloning, the unrest of the world, the greed of the governments as well as the churches of the world.

"Secrecy" by Belva Plain
"Secrecy" tells of a wealthy family that goes through all the trials and tribulations that a lot of families go through.  I guess money does not keep troubles away any more than not having money.
Charlotte and her parents keep all the secretes.  As Charlotte becomes older and the secretes start revealing themselves she learns she has to tell someone if she expects to have a life.
As time goes on she finds more secrets that eventually rune her life with Roger her fiance, her Father and Uncle, not to mention the town.
As all good stories the twist and turns lead to surprise endings.
     A very good book.

"Evening Class" by Maeve Binchy
A very enjoyable book about the people who decide to take an evening class and learn Italian.
The setting is in Dublin, Ireland.  The characters are a mixture from the rich to the poor.  The description of each charter and why they decided to take this class is cleverly written.
The plot changes with each charter and yet it becomes intertwined at time.
     Also a good book.

"The TEN Commandments" by Dr. Laura Schlessinger and Rabbi Stewart Vogel

This was not al all what I expected.  When I was giving this book by my son and daughter-in-law for Christmas 98, I just read the title and the author.  I kind of thought it was Dr. Laurs's 'Ten Commandments' boy was I wrong.
I found this book very interesting.  First I didn't know that the Jewish Ten Commandments are a little different from the Christian's.  That kind of surprised me at first.
I really liked the way Dr. Laura and Rabbi Vogel explained the Commandments and what they meant in both the Jewish and Christian communities.
I also liked adding personal call-in's and mail from Dr. laura helping to put the Ten Commandments to use in today's world.
I agree we have forgotten about them as she had pointed out when she asked collage students if the Ten Commandments are out dated and they all said yes.  Then she asked which ones should be taken out and no one could answer.
This showed me that we are getting way to lax in today's society

"Small Miracles" by Yitta Halberstam & Judith Leventhal

I also recieved this book for Christmas.
There are many short stories of small miracles or coincidences, as some my prefer, that happen every day.
Many of the stories are very inspiring.  Some are funny and some are very heartwarming.
I'm looking forward to reading the next one "Samll Miracles ll".

"Small Miracles ll"by Yitta Halberstam & Judith Leventhal
I also received this book for Christmas.
This is a continuation of "Small Miracles".  It is also very good, just as the first book was.

"Justice" by Faye Kellerman
A Peter Decvker and Rina Lazarus murder mystery.
Easy readying, enjoyable, intriguing.
I like Kellerman's style of writing.

"Milk And Honey" by Faye Kellerman
Another Peter Decker and Rina Lazarus Novel.
Again I liked Kellerman's style, and truly enjoyed this book.
