My Mother

by

Lauren Ilyse Edwards

My mother is the person I admire the most. There are many people I would love to be like, but my mother is my first choice. Many people say that I already have some characteristics of my mom but, I hope that when I am older, I will be just like her.

I am very grateful for having such a loving and caring mother. She is a very happy and successful person. She sets great examples for me. When I am older, and have children of my own, I will raise my children the same way she raised me.

I feel that I am a very lucky person. Some kids do not have the priviledge of having a mother like mine. I hope that my children will admire me as much as I admire my mother.

This was an essay Lauren wrote in her English journal on the person she admired most. It was written on November 20, 1998 - the day she was killed.
