Press to hear Dave Matthews

Welcome to a written tour of Jenni's famous room. For those of you who were not fortunate enough to see it in person, as you read this page, close your eyes once in a while and put a picture in your mind's eye. Soon you will feel as if you were sitting with Jenni, her music, and her junk. All of which are greatly missed.

The first thing you would be assalted by as you decended the stairs would be Dave Matthews blasting on the stereo, and the crazed smell of incense. Watch out, there is a Caution-Elephants Crossing sign ahead. Don't worry, the only elephants you will run into are plastic, wooden, candles, or her favorite elephant blanket on the bed. It used to be mine, but she claimed it years ago, and I will always consider it Jenni's now. The hem came undone a few years back and Jenni "fixed" it with safety pins. I don't have the heart to take the pins out and get it repaired.

OK-ready to keep going? Too dark? Don't worry, the black light that gets turned on now will soon illuminate the constellations we drew on the sheets Jen used as walls. If you got to put your name on these sheets, they too will glow in the dark. Don't let that life size poster of Mel Gibson holding a gun scare you. I can't tell you how many times I've jumped seeing it out of the corner of my eye.

All right-lets put the lights back on. No, wait a minute, lets turn on the crazy lights strung along the ceiling. Look, there are cows, bats, and green monster heads twinkling over us now. Oh geez, and the Mountain Dew cans hot glued to the rafters. Mountain Dew was and still is one of Jenni's trademarks. Can't forget all the Do Not Disturb signs from hotels still hanging up there too. OK-enough of the dark, lets light a few candles and look around.

That's better. Wow, have you ever seen such a collection of CD's? What do you expect, she used to DJ some Middle School dances. She loved doing that. And there's the microphone she's famous for. Remember when she and Courtney sang Madonna's song "Like a Virgin" at the 4th of July picnic? They were great. It was so funny. I'm so thankful I also have a recording of that. Her favorite movies Grease, Dirty Dancing, and Romeo and Juliet are still sitting on the TV. I'm surprised the telephone over there still works. Amazing how the wires never burned up.

Aghhhhhh, shoes galore. This girl is a Doc Marten freak. The ones I have grown the most fond of are the green alligator patten leather ones. I've even worn them once. Take a good whif-you can still smell her favorite scent of Tommy Girl. I can just see her with her arms around PJ in that cute Tommy dress. Funny, but right now I'm really looking at a huge white terry cloth robe with satin Volkswagons on it, and the slippers under it are huge monkeys. Wow, what a one of a kind girl. A definite fashion statement. She set her own trends and did not care what anyone thought.

Well, the tour is about done. I need to rest a minute. Think I'll lay my head down on the Winnie The Pooh pillow and just think about Jenni for a while. I constantly wonder what she is up to in heaven. What hunk is she focusing on? What is she wearing today? Yuk, that's about a year's worth of gum stuck there on the wall. Too lazy to toss it in the Notre Dame trash can? I remember the Christmas she wanted all the Notre Dame stuff. Wonder if she would have made it there, at least for a visit? Don't know, but whatever, I have a room full of fantastic memories here. Some will get moved as Lindsay takes this area over, but some can never be taken away from me.
