Dear Family and Friends,
Once again National Children's Memorial Day is fast approaching. The date is Sunday, December 10, 2000. Wherrever you are at 7:00 PM, again I ask that you light a candle in remembrance of Jenni and all children who have left us for eternal happiness. As the candles burn down in one time zone, others are being lit in another, creating a 24-hour memorial. Candles are being burned as far away as Australia.
I would also like to take this opportunity to invite you to place an ornament on Jenni's Christmas tree that will be placed at her graveside. I will do my best to keep them on the tree.
Thank you for helping us remember Jenni and her heavenly friends on this special day and this holiday season.

The above letter is sent in my Christmas cards to those I do not see. I update it each year. Family and friends near to us each receive this letter rolled around a candle. Unfortunately this is a ceremony I have no choice in but it is another attempt to keep Jenni's spirit alive. I ask that you keep us all in your prayers~the holidays are especally difficult~life is not the same~it gets different. |

Senate Resolution 118 reads in part...that the Senate designates December 13, 1998 as "National Children's Memorial Day" and requests that the President issue a proclamation designating December 13, 1998, as Children's Memorial Day and calls the people of the United States to observe the day with appropriate ceremonies and activities in remembrance of infants, teenagers, and young adults who have died. |
