St. John's Harbour From Signal Hill

~~~~~MY HOME IN MY WORDS~~~~~
Newfoundland, a beautiful island off the east coast of Canada, is where I call home. I was born in and raised in St. John's, the oldest city in North America. With all the nooks and crannies of the outports and little villages across the island, you never run out of things to see, do, and learn in a place you feel so close to and in which you grew. The scenery is breath-taking, imagine the peacefulness of watching the waves beat the rocks, the boats in the harbours, all the colors of the seasons coming to life during a walk through the country. Oh and the wild life is wonderful especially when catches you off guard. It's simply dreamy. There are so many reasons why I love this place and I am proud to call it home.
Big Pond, town water supply also for you history buffs ...
On July 12, 1933 Captain Charles A. Lindburgh with his wife Anne Lindburgh landed on Bay Bulls Big Pond during a 30,000 mile survey flight that was to assist in establishing base sites for future air routes.
A couple of ice bergs. Bergs are a a regular occurance in the spring to summer of each year, most boats tours include whale and bird watching along with viewing a few icebergs along the way.
