According to family tradition she is related to Stonewall Jackson
but we have been unable to find a record of her father John Jackson's
birth or his parents name.

Mrs. J. W. Cummins Succumbs to Illness
Widow of Capt. Cummins Dies of Heart Ailment -
Suffered Paralytic Stroke Three Years Ago.
Mrs Josephine W. Cummins, 68 years old, widow of Captain J. W. Cummins died
at 11:30 Thursday night at her home, 523 South Fourth street, after a long
illness from heart disease and asthma, following a paralytic storke suffered
three years ago.
Mrs. Cummins was a well known member of the St. John's Episcopal church, and
had resided here since 1872. She came here with her husband in that year, from
La Porte, where they had lived for some time prior. Mr. Cummins was a Civil war
verteran and was employed as an engineer by the former Lake Shore railroad. He
died suddenly at the roundhouse on January 17, 1907.
Mrs Cummins was born in Pittsburg, PA., on September 22, 1847. She is surrvived
by a grandson Francis, of this sity, and other distant relatives. She was a
member of the Ladies auxilliary to the B of L. E.
The funeral will be held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon at the Episcopal church,
Rev W. W. Daup officiating. interment will be in Grace Lawn cemetary.
