Medlin Documents

I obtained these documents from National Archives....This is Richard Henry and Josiah's father.....He was in the Seminole Indian Wars....Lucinda obtained land from this.....Richard was born in late 1700s....showing Medlin name

I also obtained this documents from National Archives....Richard had a brother named Henry....He got guardianship of the children after Lucinda married A. Cobb....Looks to me like Cobb was selling off the land without Lucinda's permission....She left him and lived with the children.....both Henry and Richard spelled it Medlin

Lucinda is living with the children here...This is the 1860 census...She has taken back her name of Medlin...Cobb is still alive...Notice Joe and Richard Henry are listed as students....Lucinda was left with small child of her with Cobb I assume and with her daughter-in-law Elizabeth Wright who married John A. Medlin...Both of these children are not on next census...I believe they perished during the civil war

Joe is living with Richard and his first wife Jerisha....Lucinda is also living with them....This is 1880 census

This is the census taken of Confederate soldiers in Alabama in 1907....Joe apparently signed oath of allegience and came home...Perhaps to take care of his mother as the yankees burned New Hope to the ground

This is Richard's census of Confederate soldiers in Alabama in 1907......He was sent to three prisoner of war camps ....stayed till end of war
