AGNETTE SVEUM HAUGEN, information.

NIELS and ANNE SVEUM.

Niels, born October 7, 1827, in Augedalen, Norway

(near Lillehammer)

Anne, born March 16, 1825, came from a large family living on a big farm in Gausdal. Anne Johannesdatter married Niels Paulsen i V. Gausdal church June 1, 1852. Their children Bertha, born 1854; Peter, 1856; Mathea, 1859; Ida, 1861; Tobias, 1863; and Agnette, 1865.

The first who went to America was Peter, date unknown. Annie and Niels came over to the United States May 19, 1882 with the "Rollo" steamship. They landed in New York, then went to Grand Forks, ND. and later to Erskine, MN. where they farmed.

Niels was 52 years young, Anne a year older, Mathea 22 or 23, Ida 21, Tobias 19, Agnette 17.

They all came on the "Rollo", Bertha and Simen Hanson came over to the U.S. on May 30, 1890, to Montreal, Canada, came later to Erskine and farmed there. Bertha was 35 years young, Simen was 35, Niels, 11 yrs, Hans 10, Mathias 7, Amund 5, Ida 3, and Signe 11 months, came with them.

They had seven more children in Erskine All of the Niels and Annie's children were born in Norway before the came to America, They lived at "Sveum" in Augedalen, Annie's father lived with them and here sister, Tore, who had 2 boys.
