Branches of the DECK Family

This is Abraham DECK, my earliest ancestor so far.  Abraham was born in Somerset County, Pennsylvania in 1816. Abraham moved to Ohio when he was 19 years old in 1835, settling in Carroll County.  In 1836 he married Sarah SNYDER in Tuscarawus County.  In 1845, Abraham and Sarah moved to Fulton County, Ohio and by 1850 settled in Lucas County, Ohio as proven by the 1850 Federal Census. Abraham had 9 children with Sarah.  They were:  Joseph, Samuel, Thomas P., Sarah, David, Daniel, Henry Issac ( my great grandfather), Abraham B., and Mary (who died as a teenager). (Notice the dates are wrong on the bottom of Abraham's picture.)

This is Abraham's bride Sarah SNYDER DECK.  She was born in Pennsylvania in 1818.  Sarah and Abraham separated in 1871 and he remarried in 1873, but to date I have been able to find no proof of this second marriage, supposedly to a Henrietta Rhinehart.

Most of the Deck's remained in Ohio all their lives.  In fact, most of them are burried in either Fulton or Lucas Counties.  Quite a few of them are buried in the Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania, Ohio.
