The following is a brief synopsis of what she has shared with others:

• She has received several phone calls in the US from the orphanage since her adoption. People at the orphanage miss her and want to stay in touch with her. She felt loved by the workers there.
• Girls cannot be adopted from China after they reach age 13. The Chinese are afraid that they may be used for prostitution or slavery in the US.
• All of the orphanage workers came from the hotel (the parent's group was not allowed to visit the orphanage to say goodbye to her and see her new parent.

The albino boy and girl with the one arm are still at the orphanage. She considered the girl with one arm to be "defective" and did not play with her.
• The orphanage paid for her to go to school in the city. She can read and write in Chinese.
• At the orphanage, she was expected to be help be a caregiver to the younger children.
• She was taught to kill and pluck chickens (editor's note: My mother, who was born in China, learned this skill there too)
• She washed clothes and dishes by hand.
• She never brushed her teeth, but had no cavities when examined by a dentist. She washed her face and combed her hair every morning at the orphanage. They rarely bathed there--to bathe, they stand upright in a large tub and wash down.
• She lived on a diet of rice, cabbage, and sometmes, chicken.
