We received Amira's referral on August 30, 1999. This is her referral photo which had been taken in March. She was 4 months old in the photo. She was 12 mos old when we received her.

This is one of her earliest smiles for us. It was a couple days after we received her at the Lakeview Hotel in Nanchang, JiangXi China

Amira was a very serious little girl when she first came to us.

Amira had her first birthday in Nanchang, the day before we left for Guangzhou. Our guide, Kathy, threw a surprise birthday party in the hallway of the hotel for her - complete with cake!

Amira found her toes in Guangzhou. She had been very bundled up before, so they were new to her.

Amira liked looking out the window in Guangzhou to see everything that was happening out on the street and canal. We stayed at the Guangdong Victory Hotel

Amira fell asleep after our appointment at the US consulate where we applied for her visa.

The first night in Hong Kong, Amira just had the greatest time giggling and laughing. It was so fun to see her really start to bloom and be happy.
