Welcome to the new home of my cultural and educational experiences in the clinics and hospitals of Vilnius, Lithuania. My report to the Office of International Programs is complete, and a copy of it can be found here. Pictures are up at both Photoworks and Ofoto, and I will link to them very soon. In the meantime, please visit:

Vilnius University. A beautiful university with a long history. A quick look here demonstrates some of the similarities between American and Lithuanian medical education and research. A quick look *in the medical school* demonstrates some of the differences!

My wonderful first glimpse into grassroots efforts to better Lithuanian medicine: the Pathology Center in Vilnius. One of my program coordinators is the director of this place, which amazingly is preparing for US accredidation -- a nearly unthinkable achievement of quality control and technological excellence, despite that it lives in a run down little building with open windows and no screens.

The "Med General" Clinic. While my experience here was poor, seeing the facilities gave me a glimpse into how Western medicine can transplant itself into the post-soviet structure of healthcare in Lithuania.

The Baltic American Clinic. I spent my last two days here, reveling in what is possible when education, technology, and funding for it all finally unite.

Are you looking for my front page? You can find it here. And my rough draft of a CV is lurking here.
